At its heart is the story of Carlo and Jason, half-brothers who fall in love with the same girl, Nicole, who is half-Chinese, half-Filipino and whose mother is frequently mistreated by her paternal grandmother. Carlo was always blamed by his stepmother Marissa.
Also on the ride are: Joeyboy a crass but charismatic taxi driver's son who falls in love with Casey, a spoiled young girl who has a heart condition; Ken, Rene and DJ, 3 friends who grew up together and whose lives and loves cross time and again; Andrea, a lonely girl hopelessly in love with Ken; and Justin, the good boy from Canada who tames the heart of bad girl Vicki.
In the later part, it was revealed that Bong wanted to marry Evelyn (Carlo's mother) but their love wasn't accepted by Bong's father because of financial reasons, which Bong's father later regretted. Bong marries Marissa who is pregnant with Jason, who unknown to him was fathered by another man. They both had a son shortly after Jason was born. But then, a twist of events happen where Jason discovers that Bong is not his true father, making Carlo only his stepbrother and Bong his stepfather. Before that, the two resume their fight over the girl Nicole at the same time, it is revealed to the audience but not to Jason as of the time, that the two are not blood brothers.
The love triangle between the stepbrothers seem to slowly die out as Jason accepts that Nicole loves Carlo. Jason finds another woman named Sheena but learns of his paternity. He tries to escape the bitter fact, that is when he finds out that he was a product of rape between his insane father who he rejects and his mother who married his stepfather who had a son from a former girlfriend just after a while.
This causes his stepfather Bong to demand a DNA test, when Jason's insane father finally claims paternity. Marissa admits the truth after so many years. In the end, Jason is still accepted by his stepfather and things go all right in the end, especially between Marissa and her stepson Carlo.
